FAQ

Cyber Forums:

The purpose of this web Forum is to provide a place for networking, organizing and mentoring.

FAQ Why a Forum?

The Bayside Grange continually strives to better assist the wide variety of interests and activities of the community of renters we serve. Our users include public education, social service agencies, resource protection, cultural appreciation, musicians and family groups. Whether it is a fundraiser or an appreciation, these groups have many things in common, not the least of which is going to many, many meetings.

In cyberspace, information dissemination and discussions happen through group email Listserves, Blogs and Live chats. The more you participate in things that interest you, the more the number of emails jumps exponentially. Unfortunately, so does the level of detail, often way more than you need to participate in.

A Forum’s structure is different in that large general topical areas are predefined to provide some structure. In this arena participants share information about how to access resources, including materials to read and people to talk to.

Why is the cyber forum on the Grange website and not another organization? It is hoped that through this developmental process the users themselves will help “tweek” the structure and enable this unique networking arena to go off and serve a much wider constituency.
